D’Amato Builders + Advisors is privileged to have been involved in the alterations, renovations, and hazardous materials abatement of The James Dwight Dana House, a registered National Historic Landmark. This project is located in the renowned Hillhouse section of the Yale University campus.
DB+A gutted the entire structure to the stud walls to accommodate the needs of the Statistics Department. This renovation gives the staff and students improved access to the offices and classrooms in the building. A new fire-rated central stair was installed, new electrical and mechanical systems were installed, wood floors refinished, and the entry staircase and plaster ceilings were repaired and restored to their original finish. An emergency exit was also installed for the third floor study area.
